Jumbo Frame Conclusions

To summarize this general best practice guide, you should NOT enable jumbo frame feature as a general home user.

When setting the jumbo frame, the frame of the device in the network must be less than or equal to the frame of the computer, otherwise it will cause a serious degradation of performance. Therefore, for compatibility reasons, it is better to turn off Jumbo Frame, because sometimes you cannot modify the Jumbo Frame of mobile phones, network players and other devices, and it is more troublesome to modify the Jumbo Frame configuration in operating systems such as Linux or FreeBSD.

The only exception to the rule is you should only enable jumbo frame if you are consistently streaming from large media storage library or home backup systems on your network.
