M.2 is also a flexible connector.

Image
M.2 not only supports SATA, but also PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), although not at the same time in a given M.2 SSD. It even supports USB 3.0, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Near-Field Communication (NFC) in certain configurations. Upon closer examination of an M.2 module, users may notice that there are notches, or keys, where the connector pins are located, yielding asymmetrical pin configurations. These determine which interface the M.2 module uses and the bus (PCIe, USB 3.0, etc.) that it can connect to. It’s also a design that prevents slotting an M.2 card into an incompatible interface or placing it in a reverse configuration. M.2 SSDs are capable of attaining high data transfer speeds, but it all hinges on the type of storage interface used. A SATA-based M.2 SSD is limited by SATA’s maximum limit of 600 MB/s (megabytes per second). An M.2 SSD that supports PCIe enables it to use NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express), a low-latency host controller interface specification t...

Upgrading to a 2.5Gbe Network – Recommended Products in 2021

Image
As mentioned, there are many new 2.5Gbe pieces of hardware available as 2021 continues, making the ease of choosing the right network components evermore confusing. Below I recommended a 2.5Gbe Plug-n-play laptop adapter to ensure that you are ready to make the jump to 2.5Gbe networking. Recommended 2.5Gbe adapter for laptop upgrade If your network is equipped with more compact and portable devices, you can still use a series of USB-connected devices to interact with the 2.5Gbe network. This is what I recommend: ANKMAX 2.5G Ethernet Adapter works out-of-the-box with full 2.5G functionality in Windows, macOS, iOS, and Ubuntu without having to install any drivers. Understanding SSD Technology: NVMe、 SATA、 M.2

Image
NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) is a communications interface and driver that defines a command set and feature set for PCIe-based SSDs with the goals of increased and efficient performance and interoperability on a broad range of enterprise and client systems. NVMe was designed for SSD. It communicates between the storage interface and the System CPU using high-speed PCIe sockets, independent of storage form factor. Input/Output tasks performed using NVMe drivers begin faster, transfer more data, and finish faster than older storage models using older drivers, such as AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) a feature of SATA SSDs. Because it was designed specifically for SSDs, NVMe is becoming the new industry standard for both servers in the data centre and in client devices like laptop, desktop PCs and even next gen gaming consoles. NVMe technology is available in a number of form factors such as the PCIe card slot, M.2, and U.2. While there are SSDs that use the SATA, PCIe slo...
